Reading With Lititz First Responders – A Wonderful Community Outreach
(Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese)

For the entire month of May, the Lititz Boro Police Department has been hosting “Reading With First Responders” on Facebook and members of the Warwick Ambulance, Lititz Fire Company and Lititz Police Department have all taken part in this special outreach to children staying at home. Each night at 7:00 p.m., a first responder reads a book of their choosing live to everyone logged on. They get to see and hear a first responder reading to them as they listen right in the comfort and safety of their home environment.

Shown in the photo, from left to right, are three members of the Lititz Police Department holding their chosen selection including: Lititz Boro Police Chief Kerry Nye, Officer Claud Neer and Officer Kenneth Wolfe. This project has been very well received in the community and it is just another example of the care first responders have for their communities.
