LITITZ BOROUGH – The LBPD appreciates the generous donation of a RedMan suit by the Lititz VFW Post 1463. 

Utilization of this dynamic training tool allows for enhanced real-life, scenario-based, use-of-force training that incorporates a focus on less-lethal tactics and use-of-force decision making. Realistically managing interactions and use-of-force decision making that includes a de-escalation component is critical in law enforcement training.  

The suit provides enhancements for instructor observation of student training, testing and evaluation of skills in many areas of defensive tactics and less-lethal force applications. Additionally, the full-body protection and the mobility needed to safely engage in training activities are realized for both the officers and the instructors.  

LBPD officers recently participated in annual training and recertification in less-lethal interventions and tactics that included the use of this suit.
