LITITZ BOROUGH - The National Weather Service says it plans to issue a Fire Weather Watch, in effect from Friday morning (4/29/2022) through Friday evening. According to the NWS, critical fire weather conditions possible, resulting in increased risk for rapid wildfire growth and spread, click here to learn more.

The LBPD is reminding residents that open burning is prohibited by Lititz Borough ordinance. This includes, in part, an open fire to burn any paper, refuse, or matter of any kind or make a bonfire in any public or private place outside of any building. The following recommendations may limit risk of fire:

• Report any open fires.
• Do not throw lit cigarettes from moving vehicles or into mulch piles.
• Exercise caution when using flammable liquids.
