LITITZ BOROUGH - The Warwick Township Municipal Authority staff will begin flushing fire hydrants at the end of this week (10/19/2020) in the area of the Township directly north/northeast of Lititz Borough. Flushing is a vital process to ensure the hydrants are in good working order. Flushing also removes any accumulated sediment that is built up in the water system to help insure the cleanest water possible.
You may experience lower than normal water pressure and a short period of water discoloration during the flushing and shortly thereafter. Though the water may be discolored, it is safe to drink. However, until the water runs clear, it is advisable to avoid washing clothes, especially white fabrics.
Questions regarding hydrant flushing can be directed to Authority staff at (717) 627-2379.
