Lititz Borough - The LBPD would like to pass along important information about scams involving the upcoming elections. Scammers are likely to take advantage of the large amount of information being released during the election season and try to capitalize on voter confusion. Scammers will likely try to duplicate legitimate campaign tactic to conduct their scams; which would include in-person, telephone and electronic (email) scams. All of these scams would be designed to steal personally identifiable information, defraud victims our of funds, and/or influence an individual's votes.
The LBPD would like to remind residents not to give out banking or personally identifiable information to anyone who to requests it. Never send this kind of information via any sort of email or text message. Remember emails from scammers can sometimes appear legitimate. Never open emails or attachments from someone you do not know and do not communicate with senders of unsolicited emails, phone calls or text messages.
