LITITZ BOROUGH - The LBPD recognizes October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. One in four women and one in seven men experience severe physical violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime. Domestic violence does not discriminate; it can happen in every community, and victims can be any gender, race, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, community, or socio-economic status.
Chances are likely that you know someone who is experiencing, or has experiences, violence by an intimate partner or family member, even if you are not aware it is happening. You are not alone. If you need help, please reach out to the Domestic Violence Service of Lancaster County 24/7. Their hotline is 717-299-1249 or text SAFE to 61222. The LBPD is committed to protecting victims of domestic violence. If you or someone you know is experiencing family or intimate partner violence, please reach out immediately.
Immediately call 911 for an emergency.
