LITITZ BOROUGH - The LBPD recognizes October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. One in four women and one in seven men experience severe physical violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime. Domestic violence does not discriminate; it can happen in every community, and victims can be any gender, race, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, community, ability, or socio-economic status.
Chances are likely you know someone who is experiencing, or has experienced, violence by an intimate partner or family member, even if you are not aware it is happening. You are not alone. If you need help, please reach out. The Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County can be reached at their 24/7 hotline at 717-299-1249 or text SAFE of 6122. For an emergency, dial 911.
