FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In anticipation of the weekend and days ahead of St. Patrick's Day holiday, the LBPD wants to take this opportunity to reminder people to plan a safe ride home from events where alcohol consumption will occur. Drug and alcohol-impaired driving is never acceptable, and hoping for the luck of the Irish is not a plan to avoid arrest, or even worse, causing an injury (or worse) to someone.
Preliminary data shows there were 109 impaired driver crashes in Pennsylvania, resulting in two fatalities, over St. Patrick's Day weekend 2019 (from Friday at 6PM to Monday at 6AM), source: NHSTA.
Please make a safe plan to get home ahead of time.
