Pedestrian Crash Investigation - East Main Street

LITITZ BOROUGH - The LBPD patrol function investigated a crash involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The crash occurred on 12/03/2021 around 6:00 PM at the intersection of East Main Street (SR0772) and North Water Street (SR1035).

The crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Samuel K. OKUWA, age 18, of Lititz, made a left turn onto North Water Street from East Main Street. When making the turn, OKUWA struck a pedestrian who was crossing in the crosswalk. The pedestrian is identified as Sandy J. HUXTA, age 64, of Lititz. HUXTA was transported by ambulance for hospital-based care. A summary traffic citation has been filed against OKUWA alleging he committed the violation of Right-of-Way of Pedestrians in Crosswalk. OKUWA has been summoned to respond to District Court.

OKUWA is presumed innocent.
