POLICE INCIDENTS FROM 5/17/21 THRU 5/31/21

THEFT: On 5-17-21 police responded to Black Knight’s Tavern, 335 E Main St, for a theft report.  Sometime 5-11-21 between 1400-1430 hrs, actor(s) removed money and copper piping from this location.  Total estimated value of loss $200.00.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 5-17-21 police responded to Personal Touch Car Wash, 916 Links Ave, for an act of vandalism that occurred during the overnight hours, in which unknown actor(s) attempted to break into a coin machine. Total estimated value of damage is unknown at this time.

THEFT: On 5-18-21 police responded to Root’s Country Market & Auction, 705 Graystone Rd, for a theft report.  Sometime between 1000-1930 hrs this same date, actor(s) removed an Easy Go Club Cart golf cart from the property.  Total estimated value of loss unknown at this time.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS: On 5-19-21 police responded to the 1900 block of Oreville Rd for a trespass report.  Sometime between 5-12-21 at 1200 hrs and 5-15-21 at 1200 hrs, actor(s) broke a garage window with a brick to gain access to the garage.  Total estimated value of damage $300.00.

WARRANT SERVICE: On 5-19-21 police responded to the 1300 block of Bamford Ave for a suspicious activity.  Following investigation, Samuel Wile (32) of Landisville, was found to have a warrant through the York County Sheriff’s Office.  Wile was taken into custody and transported to Lancaster County Prison.

THEFT: On 5-21-21 police received a theft report in the 2100 block of Swarr Run Rd.  Sometime between 11-1-20 and 5-20-21, a Smith & Wesson firearm was taken.  Total estimated value of loss $600.00.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 5-22-21 police responded to the 1300 block of Hammock Way for a theft report.  On this same date between 0915-0935 hrs, unknown actor(s) removed a cell phone from an unlocked vehicle.  Total estimated value of loss $1,000.00.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT BY VEHICLE WHILE DUI: On 5-24-21 James Steffy (38) of Nottingham, PA was charged with Aggravated Assault by Vehicle While DUI (F2), Aggravated Assault by Vehicle (F3), Receiving Stolen Property (F3), Unauthorized Use/Motor Vehicle (M2), Simple Assault (M2), Reckless Endangerment (M2), 3 counts of Driving Under the Influence of Controlled Substance (M) and multiple summary traffic violations.  The charges were the result of a vehicle crash that occurred on 1-21-21 at 1530 hrs, in which Steffy was traveling southbound in the 900 block of Rohrerstown Rd and swerved and struck a vehicle head-on in the northbound lane.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 5-25-21 police responded to the Jenkins School, 3131 Columbia Ave, for a vandalism report.  Sometime between 5-21-21 at 1600 hrs and 5-25-21 at 0915 hrs, actor(s) defaced a piece of playground equipment with spray paint.  Unknown amount of damage at this time.

FALSE IDENTIFICATION TO LAW ENFORCEMENT: On 5-25-21 police responded to the Travelodge Motel, 2101 Columbia Ave, for a suspicious activity.  During the investigation, Amber Miller (39) of Columbia provided false identification for herself, identifying herself as someone else. Miller was found to have a warrant through Mount Joy Boro Police Department.  Miller was taken into custody, charged with False Identification to Law Enforcement (M3) and transported to Lancaster County Prison.

THEFT: On 5-25-21 police received a theft report at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave.  Sometime between 5-14-21 at 1450 hrs and 5-17-21 at 1325 hrs, actor(s) removed an eight-foot aluminum ladder from the property.  Total estimated value of loss $175.00.

THEFT: On 5-27-21 police responded to the 2000 block of Swarr Run Rd for a theft report.  Sometime between 5-24-21 at 1600 hrs and 5-25-21 at 0800 hrs the catalytic converter was removed from a car in the parking lot.  Total estimated value of loss is unknown at this time.

HARASSMENT: On 5-27-21 Mark Seymour II (38) of East Petersburg was cited with Harassment (S), stemming from an incident reported at Campus Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, 1000 Rohrerstown Rd, that occurred in March 2021.

THEFT: On 5-28-21 Morgan Ritter (29) of Lancaster was charged with 2 counts of Theft (F3), stemming from a theft reported 1-14-20 by management of Black Knight’s Tavern and Restaurant, 335 E Main St.  In 2019 over the course of the year, Ritter, a former employee, is alleged to have manipulated customer checks, voiding transactions and utilizing house account gift cards to take an estimated $32,991.81 from the business.  

SIMPLE ASSAULT: On 5-28-21 a 16-year-old male student of East Petersburg and a 15-year-old male student of Lancaster were both charged with Simple Assault (M2), stemming from an altercation at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave, on 5-6-21.

WARRANT SERVICE: On 5-28-21 police made a traffic stop on Church St in the area of Kauffman Rd.  The driver, Zachary Stoltzfus (27) of Millersville, was found to have several warrants through the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department.  Stoltzfus was taken into custody and transported to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department.

THEFT: On 5-28-21 police responded to Turkey Hill, 1503 Columbia Ave, for a theft report.  On this date between 1114-1118 hrs, a customer removed four $5.00 lottery tickets without making payment.  Total estimated value of loss $20.00.
