POLICE INCIDENTS FROM 10/27/20 THRU 11/9/20

HOME IMPROVEMENT FRAUD: On 10-28-20 Robert Santmyer, Jr (53) of Mount Joy was charged with Receives Advance Payment for Services and Fails to Perform (F2) and Theft by Deception (F3).  Santmyer received a $3,000.00 deposit 12-11-19 from a resident in the 1100 block of Centerville Rd to remove multiple trees from the property in January 2020, the service was not provided.  A warrant was issued for Santmyer’s arrest, he was located in the 4000 block of Marietta Ave and taken into custody.

VEHICLE THEFT: On 10-29-20 police responded to U-Haul, 5456 Main St, for a vehicle theft report.  On 10-28-20 at 2214 hrs, video surveillance captured an individual return a rented truck and place the keys into the drop box.  Approximately 15 minutes later, three males wearing masks and hoodies were captured on video surveillance entering the parking lot, breaking into the drop box to retrieve the keys and then leaving with the truck that was just returned.  Unknown value of loss at this time.

THEFT: On 10-29-20 at 0354 hrs police responded to Klines Service Inc, 5 holland St, for a theft in progress.  Employees arriving at work witnessed a male removing a catalytic converter from a vehicle.  The male ran from the location and was apprehended by Mount Joy Borough Police Department in the first block of W Main St in Mount Joy.  Following preliminary investigation, it was determined that seven catalytic converters were taken from vehicles at the business.  Unknown value of loss at this time.  Charges pending a complete investigation.

RAPE: On 10-30-20 Denzel Saladeen Nichols (25) of Columbia was charged with Rape (F1), Aggravated Indecent Assault (F2), Statutory Sexual Assault (F2), Corruption of Minors (F3), Corruption of Minors (M1), and Indecent Assault (M2), stemming from an incident that occurred in March 2018 in the 400 block of Estelle Dr.  A warrant was issued for Nichols arrest.  He was located in the 100 block of Stonehouse Ln, taken into custody and transported to Lancaster County Prison, where he was remanded, unable to post bail.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  On 10-30-20 police responded to River Rock Academy for a vandalism in progress.  A 17-year old male student of Manheim created two 3-inch holes in drywall and paneling and was cited with Criminal Mischief (S).  Total estimated value of damage $150.00.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS: On 10-31-20 police responded to the 900 block of Landisville Rd for a suspicious activity.  Following investigation, Robert Greiner (24) of Conestoga was cited with Public Drunkenness (S).

THEFT: On 11-2-20 police responded to Nissin Foods construction site, 2220 Embassy Dr, for a theft report.  Sometime between 11-1-20 at 1200 hrs and 11-2-20 at 1330 hrs, actor(s) removed numerous power tools from the site.  Total estimated value of loss $4,000.00.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On 11-2-20 Erin Stouffer (38) of Millersville was charged with 2 counts of Driving Under the Influence (M), stemming from a traffic stop 10-3-20 on Harrisburg Pk in the area of Rohrerstown Rd.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS: On 11-2-20 Joseph Taylor (36) of Lancaster was cited with Public Drunkenness (S), stemming from an incident 10-31-20 at Chipotle, 130 Rohrerstown Rd.

BURGLARY: On 11-3-20 police responded to the 1100 block of Sunwood Ln for a burglary report.  It was discovered that sometime this date, actor(s) attempted to pry open a door from the garage to the house.  Entry was not made and nothing was found to be missing.  Total estimated value of damage $350.00.

THEFT: On 11-4-20 police responded to ServiceMaster Fire & Water Clean Up, 101 W Main St, for a theft report.  Sometime between 10-27-20 and 11-3-20, actor(s) removed two catalytic converters from vehicles in the parking lot.  Total estimated value of loss $500.00.

THEFT: On 11-4-20 police responded to Royal Farms, 260 Rohrerstown Rd, for a retail theft that just occurred.  At 1740 hrs two males entered the store and removed two 15-packs of Bud Light beer and walked out of the store without making payment.  Total estimated value of loss $27.98.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: On 11-5-20 Tiffany Root was charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (M) and 1 count Use/Possess Drug Paraphernalia (M), stemming from an incident 10-1-20 in the 100 block of Rohrerstown Rd.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 11-8-20 police responded to the 1300 block of Jasmine Ln for a vandalism report.  Sometime between 11-7-20 at 2315 hrs and 11/8/20 at 0001 hrs, actor(s) threw eggs at a residence, placed plastic forks in the ground and wrote messages on the driveway with soap.  Amount of damage unknown at this time.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: On 11-9-20 police responded to Harrisburg Pk in the area of Good Dr for a one-vehicle accident.  Following investigation, Steven Cabrera (36) of Lancaster was charged with 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (M), Possession of Marijuana (M), Use/Possess Drug Paraphernalia and a summary traffic violation.  Cabrera was found to have a warrant out of Indiana and was charged with Fugitive from Justice (F).  He was taken into custody and transported to Lancaster County Prison and remanded unable to post bail.

THEFT: On 11-9-20 police responded to Homestead Village, 1800 Village Cir, for a theft report.  Sometime between 10-1-20 and 11-9-20, actor(s) removed a gold bracelet with diamonds and sapphires from an apartment.  Total estimated value of loss $4,000.00.

THEFT: On 11-9-20 police responded to the 200 block of E Main St for a theft report.  Between September 2019 and November 2020 multiple items have been taken from a porch to include a Schwinn 10-speed bicycle.  Total estimated value of loss $315.00.
