On Saturday, 01-16-21 at approximately 1230hrs, East Hempfield Twp. Police were dispatched to Velaska Jewelry - 2943 Columbia Ave., Lancaster for a theft that had just occurred. Upon arrival officers spoke with employees at the the store, and learned that an unidentified male suspect had stolen (5) white gold ladies engagement rings (total value undetermined at this point). When the male initially entered the store at approximately 1200hrs, he asked to see several engagement rings. An employee removed the rings that the male asked to see from the display case. Shortly after, the male grabbed the tray containing the rings and fled from the store. The suspect was last seen fleeing south on Industry Dr. towards Columbia Ave. in a black colored 4 door sedan with tinted windows. The license plate on the vehicle was missing or obscured. Attached is a surveillance photo from the store, depicting the suspect. The suspect was described as being in his late 20's to early 30's in age, approx. 5'10" tall, thin build.
