POLICE INCIDENTS FROM 8/29/25 THRU 9/11/25

DEFIANT TRESPASS: On 8-30-25 at 0215 hrs, police responded to Days Inn and Suites, 2929 Hempland Rd, for a trespassing in progress.  Radames Vargas Jr (30) of Mountville was told multiple times by management to leave the property and he refused to do so.  Vargas was directed by police to leave the property and he did so on foot.  At 0240 hrs, he returned to the edge of the property and was yelling and causing a disturbance.  He was taken into custody, charged with Defiant Trespass (M3), Disorderly Conduct (M3) and Public Drunkenness (S) and transported to Lancaster County Prison.

NOISE ORDINANCE VIOLATION: On 8-30-25 at 0455 hrs, police were dispatched to the area of Spoon Ave and Cleek Ave for a barking dog complaint.  Upon arrival in the area, the dog could be heard barking and was located in the 900 block of Baffy Ave tethered in a yard.  Nicole Keever (43) of Landisville was found to be the owner of the dog and was cited with Barking Dog-Noise Disturbance (S).

RETAIL THEFT: On 9-2-25 at 1702 hrs, police responded to Sheetz, 3101 Columbia Ave, for a retail theft that just occurred.  An unidentified female took a vitamin water, Buzzballz Peach cocktail and a Parrot Bay Pineapple Rum bottle into the bathroom with her.  She left the bathroom without any items and exited the store.  The empty bottles were found in the bathroom.  Total estimated value of loss $15.23.

THEFT OF SERVICES: On 9-2-25 police responded to Days Inn and Suites, 2929 Hempland Rd, for a theft of services report.  On 9-1-25 a female checked into the hotel under another female’s reservation claiming it was her mother.  She spent the night and smoked in a nonsmoking room.  Total estimated value of loss $243.24.

ENDANGERING WELFARE OF CHILDREN: On 9-2-25 Anthony Joel Ortiz (24) of Lancaster was charged with Endangering Welfare of Children (F3), stemming from an incident 8-25-25 in the 1700 block of Marietta Ave.  A three-year-old child under the supervision of Ortiz was found wandering the parking lot of Barr Crest Apartments wearing only a diaper.  Investigation indicated the toddler was missing for thirty minutes before Ortiz became aware that he eloped.

RETAIL THEFT: On 9-5-25 police responded to CVS Pharmacy, 2110 Spring Valley Rd, for a retail theft report.  At 1939 hrs a customer alerted management of an unidentified female filling a duffel bag with beauty supplies and toiletry items, exiting the store and then returning and filling the bag again.  It was determined that the female did this five times with a total estimated value of loss $1,337.58.

FORGERY: On 9-7-25 at 2010 hrs, police responded to CVS Pharmacy, 2110 Spring Valley Rd, for a forgery that just occurred.  Per management, two males and one female entered the store together.  They each paid for a $15.00 gift card with a one-hundred-dollar bill and received their change in cash.  After the suspects left the store, the one-hundred-dollar bills were found to be counterfeit.  Total estimated value of loss $300.00.

RETAIL THEFT: On 9-8-25 at 1954 hrs, police responded to Sheetz, 2149 State Rd, for a retail theft that just occurred. Two males were observed entering the store and then immediately exiting with (8) 12-packs of Twisted Tea malt beverages.  Total estimated value of loss $162.32.  Following investigation, Josiah Anthony Santiago (19) of Lancaster was charged with Retail Theft (M1), Corruption of Minors (M1), Purch Etc Alcoholic Beverage by a Minor (S) and Driving while Operating Privilege is Suspended (S).  A warrant was issued for his arrest.

RETAIL THEFT: On 9-9-25 police responded to Lowe’s, 25 Rohrerstown Rd, for a retail theft report.  On 9-3-25 at 1951 hrs, an unidentified male took a Flex 24v impact driver from a display and walked out of the store without making payment.  Total estimated value of loss $179.99.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 9-8-25 a 14-year-old male student of Lancaster was cited with Disorderly Conduct (S), stemming from an incident 9-3-25 at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave.

SIMPLE ASSAULT: On 9-9-25 Jarline Rivera-Mercado (34) of Columbia was charged with Simple Assault (M2), stemming from a domestic incident 8-30-25 in the 2800 block of Dell Ln.
