On September 29, 2021 @ 12:58 PM NLCRPD conducted a traffic stop on a motorist for a traffic infraction. The driver identified a Dayshia ALSTON of Ephrata, PA was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was a wanted person from Berks County. While Officer’s placed ALSTON under arrest for the outstanding warrant she became combative and scratched one of the officers who sustained a bleeding injury to his hand. Officers were able to gain control of ALSTON and transported her to NLCRPD headquarters for processing. Charges associated with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest were filed. ALSTON was later transported to Lancaster County Prison for arraignment. The Officer received first aid and resumed his duties.
