Any unclaimed dogs will be transported to the PA SPCA in Lancaster within 72-hours of holding. If you reunite with your pet via the SPCA, you will be charged the associated fees and could also be cited for applicable ordinance violations. The SPCA sends your contact information to the NLCRPD - you must present your PA Drivers License/Photo ID to claim your pet.
This includes the Townships of Clay, Penn and Warwick and the Borough of East Petersburg.
The animal owner will be notified if the information is available on a collar or by utilizing our ProScan 700 for microchip detection.
We’ll do our best to post a photo of recovered dogs to our Agency webpage and social media outlets.
