**If you cannot pay the associated fees you have the option to self-surrender your dog to the PA SPCA.  Proof of surrender MUST be sent to the NLCRPD by the close of business on the day of surrender.  Follow this link to the "Surrendering a Pet"/rehoming instructions from the SPCA:

The NLCRPD has partnered with a local kennel and the Pennsylvania SPCA to provide services for the collection of animals (dogs) for temporary detention.  Any unclaimed dogs will be transported to the PA SPCA in Lancaster within 72-hours of holding.  If you reunite with your pet via the SPCA, you will be charged the associated fees and could also be cited for applicable ordinance violations.  The SPCA sends your contact information to the NLCRPD - you must present your PA Drivers License/Photo ID to claim your pet.

This includes the Townships of Clay, Penn and Warwick and the Borough of East Petersburg.

The animal owner will be notified if the information is available on a collar or by utilizing our ProScan 700 for microchip detection.

We’ll do our best to post a photo of recovered dogs to our Agency webpage and social media outlets.

Please contact us at (717) 733-0965 if we have your dog! If you are calling after normal business hours please dial the County Non-Emergency line at (717) 664-1180 and ask to speak with a NLCRPD Officer.
