NLCRPD is investigating the damages inflicted on the Lancaster County Veterans Honor Park in Warwick Township adjacent to the Lititz Public Library. The damages to the memorial consisted of various graffiti items posted on the walls and other surfaces of the memorial. The time of the desecration of the park is within the last week. Several juvenile males were observed in the area of the park and were to have ran when observed by officials associated with the honor park. According to the reporting party these males between the ages of 8-15 ran into a nearby housing tract.
Honor park officials remind the public that desecration of the honor park for veterans constitutes a felony offense under federal statutes and is also a crime with potential enhancement provisions under Pennsylvania statute. Complete costs for repair and restoration has not been determined.
