NLCRPD was dispatched to contact the reporting party from the 600 block of Doe Run Road in Penn Township. He wanted to report an online scam. NLCRPD called and spoke with the subject who reported that he sent photos of himself to someone online. The reporting party indicated that he uses a dating application, that he met a female on Hinge who goes by the name of TXXXX HXXXXXXY.

Caller said he was asked to send her photos of himself to her. said he initially sent what he said were regular photos of himself to this female, then he indicated he had sent her other photos, but refused to indicate if they were nude photos of himself or what they involved or where. The subject then contacted the reporting party and demanded he was to send her money, or she would send the photos of the subject to his family members. The reporting party advised he previously shared his friends list which included family members with this female and sent the subject $500.00 electronically. The NLCRPD explained to the caller that this has been an ongoing and frequent scam used lately. The victim was provided an incident number and advised to take cyber security precautions.
