The NLCRPD lifesaving award was issued to Officer Alexander Arseneau and Officer Drew Eshelman for their prompt actions that prevented the loss of life to a 13-year-old male on May 1, 2021, at 10:25 hours. This action occurred in the field on a property in the 600 block of East Millport Road. This property actually falls within the municipal boundaries of both Warwick and Manheim Townships. The victim was a child who was operating a horse drawn power mower on a sloped embankment, when the mower suddenly overturned trapping the child under the mower. The NLCRPD officers arrived and applied tourniquets to the injured child staunching the blood flow, and further rendered assistance until the arrival of the Manheim Township Police Department and the Manheim Township EMS personnel on scene.
