NLCRPD COVID 19 Update - Multi-Agency Workgroup
Sometimes during periods of uncertainty there are things that easily become taken for granted. One of these is the role active communication plays within the first responder and governmental services community.
The NLCRPD understands the importance of teamwork, planning, communication, and accountability in making certain our team provides the best services available. To that end, initiatives were made by the agency to have active, timely, accurate communication as a key part of the planning and response element. During the initial stages of planning for the response by public safety conversations were held between all key stakeholders in the process to make certain that effective actions were being undertaken to provide high level outcomes to protect the community.
Since March 16th there have been daily conference calls (weekends included) involving various disciplines in the NLCRPD Primary jurisdiction and neighboring communities. This means that each meeting entails a brief situation report from each discipline to make certain that there are no unmet needs for planning, logistics, or other emergent issues surrounding the COVID-19 Response. This small workgroup is a small part of the much larger Lancaster County EMA system.
The value of this daily meeting is that seamless identification of potential issues, discussion of trends and accurate timely information is exchanged. It cannot be understated that good outcomes require understanding of rapidly changing information from many differing sources and disciplines. There are many advantages to these daily meetings including the comfort level of all participants in working towards solutions, updates on large amounts of information and most importantly the coordination of efforts to avoid duplication.
