NLCRPD Advisory On Roadway Obstructions - Debris Removal Pending
NLCRPD patrols have been dispatched to numerous calls related to storm related road obstructions in the last twenty-four-hour operational period. The high winds that affected the area yesterday have resulted in a high volume of calls to the utility companies for trees and limbs that have fallen onto utility lines and resulted in leaning or low hanging lines.
Based upon the assessment of the public works, public safety, and utility responders each of these locations has been prioritized for a utility company response for safe removal of the trees from the utility lines. This prioritization of response may result in the delay to remove trees from those areas where the issue is considered stable until a response is completed. The NLCRPD reminds residents not to attempt to remove any storm debris from utility lines. Please be assured the utility provider and their sub-contractors will resolve the situation as their resources are available. Until that removal has been completed, drivers may notice traffic barriers or cones in place to assist motorists within affected areas.
