PennDOT to Replace Newport Road Bridge in Penn Township, Lancaster County
Project expected to be completed by mid-May
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that its contractor has begun to replace the bridge that carries Newport Road (Route 4030) over Boyers Run in Penn Township, Lancaster County.
The bridge, which is located just west of Sanctuary Road, and southeast of Locust Lane, closed this morning. A detour will be in place using Lebanon Road (Route 72) and Elizabethtown Road (Route 4008).
This project includes replacing the existing structure with a precast concrete box culvert, roadway approach improvements, new guide rail, signs and pavement markings and other miscellaneous construction.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-May.
