Reporting party informed the NLCRPD patrol that on 11/09/21 at around 16:00 hours she began receiving texts from the phone number: XXX-XXX-XXXX. Caller stated that she received a text stating that she was a winner from an individual who identified themself as “ Agent Mark Williams”. Reporting party was advised that depending on the amount of money she wanted, she would have to provide a certain amount of money in the form of a gift card before receiving her money. The intended victim informed the NLCRPD patrol that she picked the plan where she would pay $500.00 to receive $50,000.00.

“Agent Williams” asked the intended victim to go to the store on 11/09/21 to buy a $500.00 Visa gift card After making the purchase, “Agent Williams” advised the intended victim that he needed a photograph of the front and the back of the gift card. After sending the photographs, “Agent Williams” informed the reporting party that this was the wrong gift card, and she would need to purchase four more gift cards. The reporting party stated that she informed “Agent Williams” she would not be purchasing more gift cards.
