Reporting party claims she was the victim of a fraud scheme and lost over $10,000.00 over the internet. According to the narrative the victim provided she felt she was in direct contact with a lead singer from a prominent “glam metal band” from the 80’s and 90’s. The transfer was via a cash exchange application. The NLCRPD reminds citizens to make certain that they are dealing with when making electronic transaction if there is a doubt do not do the transfer. If the situation is too good to be true – it is very likely a scam. Remember every rose has it’s thorn when attempting these high-risk money transfers.
