On August 2, 2020 a sexual assault was reported to the NLCRPD. Follow up investigation by the NLCRPD criminal investigation unit has been completed. The reporting party/victim declines to participate or cooperate further. After consultation with the Office of the District Attorney this investigation is closed. An unfounded determination has been attached to the case based upon the information available until independent third-party information is developed to support the original claims. The NLCRPD is investigating the delayed reporting on an alleged sexual assault that reportedly transpired at some point during the month of February 2020. During the report filed on August 2, 2020 the victim reported that she started to walk through the East Petersburg Borough Park, and she saw a silver SUV pull up next to her. The suspect allegedly exited the vehicle and pulled the victim by the hair into the back seat of the SUV. The suspect is reportedly to have then sexually assaulted the victim. On August 3, 2020 NLCRPD Criminal Investigation Unit members spoke with the victim. The victim declined to be interviewed further and withholding cooperation with the investigation at this time. Based upon the information known to the NLCRPD investigators at this time. There is no identified threat to the public associated with this crime reporting.
