The NLCRPD reminds residents to lock your cars and secure your valuables when using the array of Township and Borough parks, and wildlife refuge areas within the NLCRPD primary jurisdiction. As always if you see suspicious activity - report it to the police. With the recent cold weather events apparently over (at least for the next few days) and spring like temperature forecast, many residents will be taking advantage of the outdoor recreational opportunities in parks and other venues within the area. This unfortunately is the same break that thieves are looking for to take advantage of cars in parking lots at recreational area venues. Smash-and-grab thieves in addition to being a deliberate common criminal are casual opportunists. They see something they like, so they break in and take it. Eliminate or reduce the opportunity for crime before you get out of your car, make sure your valuables are out of sight. Never leave these things lying out on your seats, dashboard, or floor:
Phone
Purse or wallet
Laptop (or its bag)
A briefcase or backpack
Shopping bags
Any small electronics
Cash – yes, even loose change/coins
Your keys
