The reporting party stated that she parked her vehicle in the parking lot of Newport Commons on Saturday night, (10/15) and then when she went to go to work on Monday morning her car was not running correctly. The caller who was running late for work had to call for an Uber to get to work and called a garage to have her vehicle towed. The reporting party stated that today she received a phone call from the garage stating that someone had cut her catalytic converter off her vehicle. The victim did not have an estimate of the damage at this time but wanted to make a police report. This crime is associated with a nearby theft reported on 10/17/22 at 1650 hours, NLCRPD was dispatched to Creekside Ln. for a theft. Upon arrival the reporting party stated that sometime last night 10/16/22 to this morning 10/17/22, her catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle. The victim reported when she went to her vehicle this morning and stated it sounded like the vehicle was going to explode. She took the vehicle to a mechanic shop and was informed the catalytic converter was stolen from it.
