Update – A Tuesday afternoon two crash in Penn Township is now being investigated and re-classified by the NLCRPD as a fatal crash. The 90-year-old passenger identified as Donald Barnhart, has succumbed to his injuries. The NLCRPD received notification of the death during the early afternoon hours of August 27, 2021. The crash investigation is ongoing.

Previously reported by the NLCRPD : A Lititz area couple suffered injuries in a Penn Township crash yesterday afternoon. Arlene R Barnhart (84) years of age, of Countryside Lane Lititz, PA suffered minor to moderate injuries and her front seat passenger Donald Barnhart age, (90) years of the same address, who incurred potentially life-threatening injuries from the crash. Both injured parties were transported by EMS first response units to the Lancaster General Hospital for hospital-based treatment of their injuries. Justin D Martin (33) years of age, of Penny Lane Mount Joy, PA was treated by EMS at the scene of the crash, Martin was not transported for further care. Preliminary investigation indicates that the SUV driven by Barnhart turned into the path of van driven by Martin. The crash remains under investigation.
