NEW SRO Added to Donegal School District

The Susquehanna Regional Police Commission and the Donegal School Board Officials agreed on hiring an additional School Resource Officer recently. The board approved the hiring of Officer Lori Cramer to start the upcoming school year. SRPD previously had one officer for 4 schools in the Donegal School District. SRO's build relationships with students and work as mentor's. They collaborate with school administrators, security staff, and faculty to ensure schools are safe places for students to learn.

SRO's are not meant to be an armed security presence, scaring kids into behaving, but rather educators, informal counselors, and law enforcement officers, who are part of the schools in which they serve. At each school, the SRO becomes a dependable, appreciated member of the administration who kids look to for advice, support, and safety.

SRO's will rotate between all 4 schools to include the primary/intermediate/junior high and high school.  Congratulations Officer Cramer!
