A suspect in the homicide of a male in Strasburg Borough was arrested Sunday night in East Drumore Township, Lancaster County. Danielle Bewley, 29 yoa, was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police around 11:22 p.m. at her home in Quarryville, Lancaster County.
Members of the Strasburg Borough Police Department were dispatched to the PNC Bank parking lot on N. Decatur Street in Strasburg Borough earlier in the evening for a report of an injured male. Officers arrived and determined the male had been shot and was deceased.
Police then received information that the suspect, Danielle Bewley, had returned to her home at 147 Locust Lane, Quarryville. The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was activated to assist in the arrest of Bewley. Bewley was taken into custody after a standoff at the Locust Lane home.
Bewley stands charged with one count of Criminal Homicide and one count of Firearms Not to Be Carried Without a License. Bewley was transported to a local hospital and will be arraigned at a later time. Police are still investigating the events leading up to the shooting in Strasburg.
Bewley is presumed innocent. Charges were filed by Officer Bradley Klunk of the Strasburg Borough Police Department. Pennsylvania State Police, the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office and other agencies assisted during the investigation.
