SBPD is once again participating in the Pink Patch Project. For those of you who don't know, the Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease. Through the sales of collectible uniform patches, public safety agencies world-wide are helping to bring an end to breast cancer.
This year's SBPD pink patch was designed to commemorate the departments 150th anniversary. Patches are available for $10 each with proceeds being donated to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC). Last year the department was able to donate $2,000 to PBCC.
Patches may be purchased for $10 each in-person at 145 Precision Avenue, Strasburg, Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm or by mailing payment and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to SBPD, Attn: Kim, 145 Precision Ave, Strasburg, PA 17579. They may also be purchased on eBay for $11.50 (includes shipping).
We would like to thank those who have already purchased patches or made a donation this year! SBPD will be selling pink patches throughout the month of October and hope to at least match our donation from last year. Lets help PBCC find a cure now, so our daughters don't have to!
