In the past week the Strasburg Borough Police Department received two calls of syringes that were found on the street. Upon investigation it was determined that they were discarded insulin syringes that had fallen out of the trash. We remind everyone to be cautious with medical waste they throw away. In particular, please dispose of “sharps” properly by collecting them in designated sharps containers, or a sealed container such as a peanut butter jar or coffee can, before putting the sealed container into the trash. And remember, if you have outdated or unused medications, you can bring them to the Strasburg Borough Police Department at 145 Precision Avenue for secure disposal.
