Youth Aid Panel Needs Volunteers

Do you want to make a difference in our community?

The Ephrata Police Department is currently seeking volunteers to participate in one of our two Youth Aid Panels.

What is a Youth Aid Panel?

The Youth Aid Panel is an alternative method for addressing juvenile criminal actions without formal criminal charges in the juvenile court system. The panel exists to assist the juvenile and District Courts and is used as a response to first time summary and misdemeanor offenses. Police officers from participating jurisdictions can refer cases to the Youth Aid Panel for alternate disposition.

Volunteers on each panel meet a few hours a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6 pm in the Ephrata Borough conference room located at 124 South State Street in Ephrata.

If you are interested in volunteering to make a difference or have questions, please contact School Resource Officer John Hirneisen at 717-723-7929 or John_Hirneisen@easdpa.org.
