The owner of Steffy’s Towing in Ephrata Borough promptly called the police.
In April of 2020, the owner of the vehicle reported to Ephrata Police that approximately $31,000 was missing from his wife’s purse after she was involved in an accident in late October. After the crash, the owner found only an empty purse in the car. Obviously, no leads or suspects were developed by the police, because the money was in a debris pile in the vehicle.
After the money dried, Ephrata Police were able to return $32,150 to the vehicle owner thanks to an honest local business owner.
