The Ephrata Police Department has been made aware of an allegation of animal cruelty involving the treatment of a horse, which is alleged to have occurred on August 2, 2016.  The report was made in a timely manner and the investigation began at that time.  Officers conducted interviews and follow up interviews – and will conduct more.

As a criminal justice agency, it is imperative that we sort out fact from fiction, and truth from hyperbole before taking action against a citizen.  We must collect evidence and information. In many cases, this solemn process takes time.
