Ephrata Police were called for an accident involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of State and Main Streets, Ephrata Borough at approximately 3:20pm 12-26-19.
Ephrata Police investigation found a vehicle driven by Constance Buck F/71 of Ephrata was making a left turn from North State St onto East Main St when she struck pedestrian Steven Van Splinter M/21 from Shillington, PA. Van Splinter, at the time he was struck, was in the crosswalk with the pedestrian cross signal activated as he attempted to cross the intersection.
Van Splinter sustained non-life threatening leg injuries and was transported to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Buck was not injured.
Ephrata Police shut down the roadway for approximately 20 minutes and were assisted on scene by the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company and Fire Police.
