Ephrata Police recently filed Arson charges at the Lancaster County Juvenile Court as a result of the investigation into a deck fire that occurred on November 9, 2019 at 4:30 a.m. at the AMVETS Post 136 in Ephrata Borough.  Police allege that a 17-year-old male ignited debris on fire with a discarded cigarette and watched the fire grow.  The suspect failed to attempt to extinguish the fire, call the fire department, or seek assistance.  The juvenile is presumed innocent.
