ACCIDENT- Hit and Run



Ephrata Police cited a 17yr old male from New Freedom, York County after a hit and run accident Thursday evening 11-14-19 around 9:45pm. 

Ephrata Police were dispatched for a vehicle accident at the intersection of South Reading Rd (PA 272) and Academy Drive involving two vehicles, one of which subsequently fled the scene.  

Joshua Weaver 44 of Ephrata was north bound on S. Reading Road and upon driving into the intersection at Old Mill Rd a silver Mazda sedan reportedly drove into the intersection from Academy Dr and into the path of Weaver.   Weaver struck the rear passenger quarter panel which caused the rear bumper cover and registration plate to be torn from the Mazda.   The driver of the Mazda fled the scene but was subsequently stopped about 10 minutes later by Akron Boro. PD in the 1100 block of S. Reading Rd.     No injuries were reported and both vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.     The 17yr old male was cited for hit and run accident plus other traffic offenses.
