Right-to-Know (RTK) requests are to be submitted in writing using the Right-To-Know Form and should be addressed to the Elizabethtown Police Department Open Records Officer. Once it is finished, you can either drop it off between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, or you can mail it to us at 600 South Hanover Street Elizabethtown, PA 17022, or you can email it to us at etownpd@etownpolice.org. If a requester chooses not to use the request form, the request will be considered an informal request, not subject to the Right-to-Know Law (RTKL). This means that the requester cannot pursue the relief and remedies provided for in the RTKL. The Elizabethtown Police Department will not respond to anonymous requests for records.
To allow Elizabethtown Police Department to locate requested records and determine whether those records are public, requests for records should be specific, concise and clearly identify as precisely as possible the records sought. Requesters should clearly indicate the preferred method of access - paper copies, electronic copies, or by inspection. Requesters should retain a copy of the request for their file, as a copy of the request is necessary should a requester appeal the Elizabethtown Police Department's response.
