EPD Right-To-Know Form

Right to Know requests are to be submitted in writing using the EPD Right-To-Know form and should be addressed to the Elizabethtown Police Department Open Records Officer.  Once it is finished, you can either drop it off between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, or you can mail it to us at 600 South Hanover Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, or you can email it to us at etownpd@etownpolice.org.    If a requester chooses not to use the request form, the request will be considered an informal request, not subject to the Right to Know Law (RTKL).  This means that the requester cannot pursue the relief and remedies provided for in the RTKL. The Elizabethtown Police Department will not respond to anonymous requests for records.

To allow Elizabethtown Police Department to locate requested records and determine whether those records are public, requests for records should be specific and concise and clearly identify as precisely as possible the records sought.  Requesters should clearly indicate the preferred method of access - paper copies, electronic copies, or by inspection.  Requesters should retain a copy of the request for their file, as a copy of the request is necessary should a requester appeal Elizabethtown Police Department's response.

The Right-To-Know officer for the Elizabethtown Police Department is Chief Edward Cunningham, 600 South Hanover Street, Elizabethtown PA 17022, (717) 367-6540 X251.  The Assistant Right-To-Know officer is Lieutenant Shane Deardorff, 600 South Hanover Street, Elizabethtown PA 17022, (717) 367-6540 X243.

Appeals from decisions made by EPD's RTK Officers may be appealed, in writing and following the procedures outlined in the RTK Act, to ADA Amar Riley, Chapter 11 RTKL Appeals Officer, Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, 50 North Duke Street, PO Box 83480, Lancaster PA 17608-3480 or to the PA Office of Open Records Executive Director at the Office of Open Records, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 333 Market Street, 16th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101-2234 or openrecords@pa.gov.
