A West Hempfield Township man will serve up to a decade in prison for sharing and possessing child pornography.
Rex Allen Kio recently pleaded guilty in Lancaster County Court to six felonies, including possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility (computer).
Kio, 62, will serve 2 to 10 years in prison, in accordance with a plea agreement arranged by Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart.
Lancaster County Judge Howard Knisely also ordered Kio register his whereabouts with police for 15 years and abide by sex offender conditions.
During a search at Kio’s apartment on Stone House Lane in 2018, police found at least 80 photos and seven videos depicting child pornography. Forensic examination of Kio’s computer also revealed hundreds of thousands of keyword searches for pornographic/lewd materials.
West Hempfield Township police Detective Robert Bradfield filed charges.
