A Millersville man was convicted this week of two felonies for dealing fentanyl-laced hearing in Lancaster city.
Jose M. Valentin, 52, was jailed on $1 million bail after a Lancaster County jury returned guilty verdicts Tuesday afternoon to counts of delivery of heroin and possession with intent to deliver heroin.
Assistant District Attorney Christopher E. Miller presented evidence of Valentin selling the drugs from his Jaguar sedan while in the 500 block of Pershing Avenue on Oct. 13, 2017.
Lancaster city police’s Selective Enforcement Unit (SEU) was in the area for a surveillance detail. Officers stopped a man who purchased drugs from Valentin – the man had five baggies of heroin (which tested positive for heroin and fentanyl).
Officers then conducted a search and found Valentin in possession of $395 cash and six bags of heroin that matched what the buyer purchased.
ADA Miller showed jurors surveillance video of the drug transaction. At one point in the video, a family with a toddler is seen near the transaction.
Lancaster County Judge Donald Totaro, who presided over the trial, will order sentence on June 2.
