An East Earl Township man is charged with attempted homicide and related offenses regarding stabbings Saturday night at the man’s apartment.
Gregory B. Hall Jr., 28, stabbed himself after stabbing a man and woman about 8 p.m. at the apartment in the 1000 block of Main Street.
Hall lived at the apartment with the female victim and their children.
Hall is at an area hospital with serious injuries. He will remain under police custody while at the hospital.
The male victim, a 26-year-old Lancaster County man, is also at an area hospital with serious injuries from stab wounds to his head and torso.
East Earl Township police Officer Gary Sensenig charged hall with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
Lancaster County Detectives are assisting East Earl Township police. County Detectives responded to the scene and are processing evidence, assisting with interviews and others investigative tasks.
Information gathered so far in the investigation indicates Hall stabbed the man and woman upon returning to the apartment Saturday night.
The woman sustained lesser injuries from stabs to her face. She received treatment at an area hospital.
Officer Sensenig was the first responder at the apartment Saturday night, arriving there within seconds of a 911 dispatch.
At the scene, he saw the male victim outside the home with obvious injuries.
Hall was outside for a moment and returned inside, locking the door.
Officer Sensenig also encountered outside the female victim, who reported that Hall was inside with the children.
Officer Sensenig forced his way into the apartment and yelled for Hall; Hall then came out of a bathroom.
Officer Sensenig disarmed Hall, forced him to the ground and handcuffed him. The officer then ensured the four young children at the home were safe and helped them outside.
Medics and other police arrived at the scene.
Hall is presumed innocent.
