A Lancaster man was sentenced to 37 ½ to 76 years in prison after pleading guilty to 15 charges including rape of a child.
John F. Henry, 37 of the 400 block of Pearl Street, was sentenced by Lancaster County Judge Donald Totaro on December 29 for raping, sexually assaulting and uploading child pornography of a five-year-old victim. Henry will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
On October 9, 2020, Lancaster City Bureau of Police received a cyber tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting eight sexually explicit child pornography files that were uploaded to Google Photos and Google Drive.
Police were able to identify Henry through the email addresses associated with his Google account.
Henry originally declined to speak when given the opportunity before later asking the judge to “take it easy on him.”
“Your crimes are heinous,” Totaro responded. “There’s no other way to say it. It’s detestable.”
Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart prosecuted the case.
“[Henry] raped this very young child and memorialized these acts in videos and photographs,” Swinehart said. “He doesn’t acknowledge his behavior or take accountability for his actions.”
Totaro ordered consecutive sentences on the charges of rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault, incest of a minor, manufacturing child pornography, dissemination of child pornography, and criminal use of communication facility.
Detective Ryan Hockley filed charges.
