A Lebanon County man is charged with secretly filming a woman at a Lancaster city restaurant.
Derek Beane, 41, is charged with misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy and possessing an instrument of crime (a cellphone).
Lancaster city police Officer Daniel Davis filed charges regarding an incident Dec. 31 at The Pressroom Restaurant on West King Street.
Beane was seated at the bar of the restaurant when he used his cellphone to film the woman’s lower body.
The woman saw what Beane was doing and called police. The incident also was captured on surveillance cameras.
Beane, of Myerstown, is presumed innocent.
Police are asking anyone with additional information about this type of filming activity to contact them. Information can be provided to your local police department, or to Officer Davis at 717-735-3274.
Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick approved the charges.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24.
