An Elizabeth Township man charged with slashing a teenager with a knife during a late-night street fight will have his case proceed to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing last month.
Gabe H. Sanchez, of the 100 block of Ironstone Drive, waived his preliminary hearing before Judge Joseph Stauffer on Aug. 19 on charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of a weapon.
Sanchez, 18, is accused of slashing the victim twice in the torso during a fight in the 300 block of East Second Avenue in Lititz Borough the evening of June 4.
The victim was taken to local hospital having suffered two cuts that required stitches.
About eight to 10 teenagers and young adults were involved in the fight, which started shortly after 11 p.m. Sanchez produced a large knife and began swinging it around, slicing the victim twice.
Police believe the fight had been pre-arranged.
Sanchez is currently free after posting $35,000 bail.
Lititz Borough Police Det. Peter Savage filed the charges.
Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick will prosecute the case.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
