A Columbia man was sentenced to 4 to 10 years in prison last Tuesday after pleading guilty to one docket and being convicted on another regarding child pornography.
Scott Strausbaugh, 36 of the 100 block of N. 2nd St., pleaded guilty to corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor and was convicted of five charges related to possessing and sharing child pornography after a four-day trial in April.
Strausbaugh pleaded to contacting a minor victim on Facebook to engage in a sexual relationship. He was found guilty by jury after the April trial of uploading and sharing multiple digital and video files of minors engaged in sexual acts.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a tip and forwarded it to Columbia Borough Police Detective Matthew Leddy, who filed charges.
Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart prosecuted the case.
Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey Wright ordered sentence and commended the victim who was present in the courtroom for being courageous in coming forward.
