A Lancaster city man was sentenced to seven to 20 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty last month in separate cases of sharing explicit images of a minor and illegally possessing a firearm.
Judge Jeffrey Conrad sentenced Isaiah Cabrera, of the first block of West Filbert Street, after he pleaded guilty April 16 to person not to possess a firearm, recklessly endangering another person, four counts of sexual abuse of a minor and nine other felony offenses.
Cabrera, 24, fired a gun at a victim outside a residence in the 100 block of Tanglewood Lane, Manheim Township, around noon on Aug. 4, 2023. As a convicted felon Cabrera is not allowed to possess a firearm.
Upon Cabrera’s arrest for the shooting incident in August he began communicating with a 15-year-old girl using the jail call system to discuss topics including love, marriage and children.
Speaking to police, the juvenile victim said she had sent at least two nude photos of herself to Cabrera.
A search of Cabrera’s phone uncovered numerous photos and videos depicting the indecent contact with and nudity of the juvenile victim as well as lewd conversations dating back to May 2023. Cabrera shared some of the images and videos from his device to another adult female.
Additional communication on Cabrera’s phone showed he was aware the victim was a juvenile. Cabrera was between the ages of 22 and 23 at the time.
Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Ponessa prosecuted the cases.
Manheim Township Detective Jonathan Martin filed the charges.
