Pennsylvania State Police has filed charges regarding a robbery that occurred on August 24 in the 100 block of Lancaster Avenue in Bart Township.
Gheorghe Roland, 30 of Hollywood, Fla., stands charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, endangering the welfare of children, and theft by unlawful taking.
On August 24 around 6:29 p.m., a victim notified Pennsylvania State Police that he was robbed of $139 and a Samsung smartwatch. The victim stated a female pulled a gun on him and demanded money and the watch around 6:15 p.m.
The victim was doing housework on his front porch when a white/silver BMW SUV pulled up to the end of his driveway. After approaching the vehicle, the driver indicated he was out of gas and needed cash to get home. The driver, who was identified as Roland by the victim, also offered the victim gold for cash.
The victim offered the defendant $5 because he realized a juvenile visibly upset in the front passenger seat. As the victim put the money back in his pocket, a middle-aged female in the back seat pulled out a firearm and demanded the rest of the money and smart watch.
Video footage obtained from a home near the incident and from a gas station where a similar incident occurred showed registration of a vehicle matching the description given by the victim. A query of the vehicle yielded Roland as the registered owner.
Roland is still wanted. The female suspect has not been identified.
All defendants are presumed innocent.
Pennsylvania State Trooper Jeremy Musser filed charges, which were approved by Assistant District Attorney Caitlin Blazier.
