West Earl Township Police Department Grateful for Criminal Apprehension Technology (CAT) Equipment and Training
West Earl Township, PA – April 22, 2025 – The West Earl Township Police Department is excited and grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association's (PCPA) Criminal Apprehension Technology (CAT) Training Program. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the capabilities of local law enforcement agencies to better serve and protect their communities.
Thanks to the generous $250,000 grant provided by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, West Earl Township Police, alongside 40 other departments across the Commonwealth, has been awarded a comprehensive digital camera kit valued at over $5,000. This cutting-edge equipment will assist officers in efficiently processing crime scenes, providing them with the necessary tools to gather crucial evidence with greater precision and accuracy.
In addition to receiving this valuable technology, two officers from the West Earl Township Police Department will participate in an intensive three-day training course designed to teach them the operational skills needed for manual crime scene documentation. The training will cover a range of critical subjects, including blood spatter documentation, latent fingerprint imaging, and laser track documentation, all aimed at ensuring officers can properly capture and preserve evidence at crime scenes.
The West Earl Township Police Department extends its heartfelt thanks to the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for their continued support in enhancing law enforcement capabilities across the state.
