On October 6th, 2022, at 4am West Earl Township Police Department got dispatched to a Burglary-In-Progress located in Akron Borough. Morgan Carloni (24 year old male) of Akron, PA, entered the room through a first floor window. When West Earl PD arrived on scene, they caught a glimpse of Carloni who did not want to come out. West Earl PD was assisted by Lititz Borough PD, Ephrata PD and New Holland PD. The Lancaster SERT team was notified and were staged close by to assist PD.
Roadways were blocked off around 4:45am at N. 9th St. & Main St., S. 9th St. & Main St., S. 7th St., Main St. and S. 10th St. & Main St. Roadways were blocked until the incident was clear. Roadways opened back up around 6am.
Carloni was placed into custody by West Earl PD, and was transported to LGH and then transported to Lancaster County Prison. Carloni was arraigned by MDJ Tobin, bail was set for $75,000.
Carloni was charged with (1)Count 3502 - Burglary (F).
The public and media are reminded that all criminal charges are merely accusations, and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
