The Lancaster Township Police Department is taking proactive measures to prevent thefts of Kia and Hyundai vehicles in our community. Certain models of these vehicles, manufactured between 2011 and 2021 (Kia) and 2011 and 2022 (Hyundai), have been targeted due to a security vulnerability that makes them susceptible to hotwiring.
To help mitigate these thefts, we are offering a limited number of complimentary steering wheel locks to Hyundai and Kia owners residing in Lancaster Township. These locks are designed for vehicles with key ignition systems (excluding push-button models).
Residents can pick up their free steering wheel lock at the Lancaster Township Police Department, located at 1250 Maple Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603. We encourage all eligible vehicle owners to take advantage of this opportunity to safeguard their property and reduce the risk of theft.
By working together, we can make our community a safer place. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
